The Private Campsite booking option is for groups of families and friends who would like a special getaway without interruption.
Our standard group size is anywhere from 1 to 30 people and pricing is calculated per person, with a minimum charge per night.
We can supply a cozy firepit, canvas cover and benches on request.
Details:
Facilities
The meadow truly is off-grid.
During your stay you will have complete use of the site, within the designated boundaries. The site is a low-contact experience, so whilst we will sometimes check in on you and make sure everything is going well, you will otherwise be left more or less alone. The site will have water for washing and cooking and a composting toilet a short walk from where you can put up your tents. First aid supplies and emergency contact details are kept nearby.
Guests do swim in the clean-water fed pond, but at their own risk.
The local pub serves good food and drink- directions are happily given!
We currently do not have electricity on-site for small bookings, but get in touch as we plan to add electricity in 2024.
Additional Facilities
We have a fire pit and firewood available for our customers for a small rental fee (£15 a night with a bag of chopped and prepared wood, plus £50 deposit.)
We can also erect a canvas marquee and supply pub style benches if requested (£60 for the marquee, £10 for the benches with a deposit for each).
If deposits are paid in cash, these can be repaid at check-out based on inspection. If deposits are paid by transfer, please allow 5 working days for this to be returned.
We are slowly building a collection of camping goodies to make each stay more exciting, including campfire cooking tools, lawn games and wild-camping tools.
Site Rules
We have a list of site rules designed to preserve your wellbeing, as well as the health of the site itself. Most of our rules are common sense but the main ones include:
-
No guest will leave any boundary of the meadow.
-
No fires to be set anywhere in the meadow unless by agreement.
-
Entering the water is entirely at the guests risk.
-
Do not climb the trees.
-
No cutting or burning of any material taken from the land, including naturally fallen wood.
-
Children must always be in view of an adult.
-
Observe a 5mph driving speed limit on site.
-
No guests other than those in the designated party.
-
Responsible consumption of alcohol.
-
Drug use is not tolerated.
We reserve the right to remove guests at our discretion if we have reason to believe any guest is either putting themselves, others, or the site itself at risk.
If you are a single sex-group, or we have good reason to suspect the booking is more appropriately suited to the 'small celebration' category, we reserve the right to amend your booking and charge the shortfall.
Whilst we do not want to discourage people who want to celebrate and have fun responsibly in our meadow, we take safety seriously and will act accordingly.
Prices, Payment and Arrival
Arrivals are from 14:00 on the day you arrive and departures are to be made before 11:00 am on the day you leave. It is highly recommended that at least one guest joins on the check-out site inspection.
Parties are charged £120 as a basic rate. This is based on a party of 10 at £12 each, with additional guests increasing the charge accordingly.
Maximum party size is 30, including children. Children under the age of 5 do not count in the number of chargeable guests, as long as your total is under 30 guests.
Example 1: 20 adults and 7 under-5's is 27 guests, but exactly 20 adults, so for one day the charge is £240 (£12 per chargeable person).
Example 2: 24 adults, and no under-5's is 24 adults for £288.
Example 3: 3 adults is £120 minimum fee.
Deposit is taken either by phone or direct transfer on booking, at 50% of the total booking value (non-refundable if the booking is within 4 weeks, unless due cancellation on our side). A list of guest names will also be taken and the gender ratio (not asked of children). On arrival, the person who made the booking will confirm the complete list of names and pay the total price of the booking. We will hold the deposit till check-out.
When leaving the site, a site inspection will be conducted and the 50% initial booking fully refunded as per the charge agreement. Charges are deducted from the deposit for damage to property, excessive litter or rubbish, or if the parties behaviour leads to significant disruption or nuisance (for example, bringing loud speakers or allowing additional guests).
The arrival and location details will be shared once booking is paid and completed.
